Privacy Policy
USA Weather Pro

USA Weather Pro ("the app," "we," "us") is a nationwide U.S. weather companion. This policy explains what data the app uses, why, and your choices. The app does not require an account, and we do not operate servers that store your personal information.
Summary
- No account, no login. We don't ask who you are.
- Location is optional and used only to fetch weather for the place you choose. You can skip it and search for any U.S. city by name.
- We don't run ads, analytics, or our own tracking. There are no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
- Purchases (USA Weather Premium) are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Information the app uses
Location
If you grant location access, your device's approximate coordinates are used to look up weather, radar, air quality, UV index, and alerts for your area. You can decline location access and instead select any U.S. city manually. Coordinates for the selected location are sent to the public data providers listed below so they can return weather for that point. We do not store your location on any server we control.
On-device storage
Recent forecasts, radar imagery metadata, air quality and UV readings, your saved/favorite places, and app settings are stored locally on your device (and in a shared app group so the home-screen widgets can display them). This data stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app or use Settings → Clear saved forecasts in the app.
Purchases
USA Weather Premium is sold as an auto-renewable subscription (monthly or yearly) or a one-time lifetime purchase through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes the transaction; the app only receives a yes/no entitlement status (and related renewal facts such as billing retry or grace period when Apple provides them). We do not collect or store payment information.
Data sources the app contacts
The app retrieves public data from these providers (sending only the coordinates or query needed to get a response):
- NOAA / National Weather Service — forecasts, observations, alerts, and related text products
- Iowa Environmental Mesonet / NOAA radar services — radar imagery
- EPA AirNow — air quality index and pollutant data
- EPA Envirofacts / UV providers — UV index
- U.S. Census Geocoder — converting place names to coordinates
- Apple MapKit — place search
- Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons — scenic location photos and summaries
Sunrise and sunset times are computed on your device and do not require a network call.
USA Weather Pro is not affiliated with NOAA, the National Weather Service, the EPA, or any other agency, and does not use their logos.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not run ads, analytics, advertising, or tracking servers.
- We do not require, create, or store user accounts.
- We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Your choices and rights
- Location: grant or deny in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location.
- Stored data: clear it any time with Settings → Clear saved forecasts, or remove everything by deleting the app.
- Purchases: manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or use Restore Purchases in the app.
- Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR or U.S. state privacy laws), you may have rights to access or delete personal data held about you. Because we store no personal data on our own servers, there is typically nothing for us to delete beyond what already lives only on your device. Contact us below if you have questions.
Children
USA Weather Pro is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
